| You can split armies in tactical view. Huge army can not fight effectively sometimes due to bad morale or tactical problems. On the other side, having too many armies without leaders (heroes) will also decrease your morale and thus decrease the damage you can inflict to opponent. So you will need both to join and to split armies in the future

Hints:
Select your army, press split button and create a new army consisting of 1 scout (you need to input the value manually). Then, select the newly created army and click rename button in order to change its name and icon so you can easily find it on map

- In "tactics view" click on your army
- Press the "split army" button
- Select 1 scout and create the army.
