Yesterday I sent my troops in one of the new Fortress on Kingdom of Bohemia. After 1 hour and 1500 less teutons, I'm in for an 18 hour wait before I can go back in and finish the capture. I want to look at what time I have left and... To my surprise, the Fortress is no more, I enter the coordinates in the campaign window, still nothing. Anyone knows anything about this? I don't have much time left before I can capture but there's nothing to capture. I lost my troops for nothing. Why the Fortress are gone? Why they were there the first time? Why we're getting no informations at all about this???

Good question. I've got another one: Why introduce fortresses while the olympic games are happening?

I don't know and would like an answer myself. (:s28:)

To be honest, what does the Fortress really brings to the table? The annoyance to be taxed by another player? Very small bonuses to trading in the area? I say we don't need the Fortress. I would still capture it in my area if I can because I prefer owning it than being taxed by someone else who might be my enemy.

The sole idea of getting taxed by someone else in a game is a very wierd idea imo. There's much interresting things to introduce than Fortress.

I would agree with you to a certain extend:

On PvE servers, these fortresses do not make sense and their only effect would be to give smaller players that ...

... without being able to do anything about it.

On PvP servers and on the historical servers in particular, they do make sense and I think they add an interesting aspect of "region control" to the fights between big orders or alliances of orders.

I would like to come back to another point though: It's not fair to introduce such an important feature without at least informing everybody in the forum.

ok well I captured one with the help of 6 or more players. I invested over 2500 gold into building it up and adding strongboxes over the weekend and now it is gone? We killed over 1.5 million cataphracts and Horse Archers, I lost over 50k merc points the others also. Now what happens? We were planning to use the resources from the fortress to rebuild. This is just wrong.

I've heard "rumors" that adding the fortresses on the PvE servers was actually a mistake that is somehow related to the olympic games. This is by no means official, but I just wanted to share anyway.

My suggestion for your situation, shorlunch, would be to wait until tommmorrow whether there is some sort of official statement - if there is none, I would write a ticket to support. In my eyes, you and everybod else who fought for one of the fortresses do deserve your armies replenished.

As I stated above, I feel like fortresses don't fit on PvE servers, so I can't honestly say that you deserve to keep your fortress, but at least you should not be punished for this "situation".

Yeah well I am not a happy camper. Fought the (:s13:)damn thing for 20 hrs, then dumped serious (and now expensive) gold here, built up 8 strongboxes and sped up construction, etc ,etc. I don't know whether or not they should be here but once they are you can't just turn them off like that. That's my nickel's worth. Really really poor thinking going on here.

I totally agree with shorlunch. He actually captured his fortress and invested into it. I just didn't had the time to capture mine, but if I had the time, maybe I would be in the same exact situation with gold invested. Not only they added the fortresses by mistake, but worse, they removed them a few days after WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE ABOUT IT. People were in their right to want to explore and capture these new locations.

Proper communication would have prevented a lot of problems. Once the dev team realized the fortress were added by mistake, the first step would have been to immediately communicate with the players. Either via the forums here, or the in game mail.

All the players who lost resources, gold, troops should be fully compensated, but not only that, they should also get a compensation for their wasted time while they could have been doing something else like collecting treasure maps, rare rubies or capturing mercenary camps.

The fortress appeared there due to technical issue, if you suffered any losses you can contact our tech support, it will be easier if you provide detailed description and / or screenshots.
Also i would like to point out, that sometimes its better no to go all in on something that was obviously not intended and invest time/troops in it, let us know about it.

I will start a ticket today then. How are we supposed to know if it is obviously unintended? I just want the fortress back that is all. Also, how did a druidville city appear at 67/71(18)in Bohemia and inside a contour? I thought we could not build those? And so close to the existing druidville? Will this city disappear tomorrow as well? Was it a mistake?

You can't be serious about that. (:s15:)

Considering how often new locations are added to this game without any notice or only with a notice in the game chat which might have already left the page that shows in the chat window by the time I check it, I can't always go to the forum or write a ticket and wait for a response! If I did and the answer was that the locations are legal, I would have lost hours of valueable capture time.

I was working during the last few days, so I only heard of the fortresses on Sunday evening when it was pretty much too late, but you can't seriously tell us to gather the information - you ( = game administration) have to provide it for us!
As Hakushi stated correctly, it doesn't matter if you put tother an in-game PM, write it on the front page, make a forum entry or whatever.

I support this statement.

this is to much to many failures and mistakes to often and reimbursement even on critical is far from prompt and fair by time you guys get round to compensation if ever its already cost us more than compensation you gave is worth
the timing of the drops of fortress was such as to damage those who went for it more than just lose of troops time n gold but the chance even to go for other location leagally drooped(:s6:)
