Hi
Started a new city and am waiting to build resources what else can we do? I have a troop of 10 soldiers and my hero, I have looked for an empty city but capture / explore does not appear to be an option in Bohemia. Seems like I could spend weeks just waiting for AI on autopilot to upgrade resources until they finally make enough to do anything even at level 10 the resources are taking a long time to accumulate. Had wolf's visit, searched all over for them, never found them. Bohemia's tutorial wants me to build walls which seems very resource intensive compared to upgrading resources or other game options. Am open to any ideas. Thank you |

Follow the tutorial and be patient. It sounds cheap, I know, but going through every tutorial step and paying attention is important. Also, maybe it's a good option to look out for a lord who wil teach you the possibilities of this game. *** Maybe you killed them without noticing ... they are not very strong. It should be, but you need a second city control point. Then the option "attack castle" is the one to take over another city. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. |

thank you herr schnitzer, your insights are very helpful
so far it seems reading the forum messages is the best way I've found to learn about the game. I don't mean to start a new thread but how does one find a good lord to work with? did you have one , what would be your criteria in entering into a relationship with one? |

It depends, some very powerful lords won't be in the same valley than you, but if they are in an order, and have heroes with logistics, they can be in your city quite fast but another good option is to look in your valley and look at the profile of the players around you.
You want a lord who's an active player, and since you'll lose the part 2 and 3 of your newbie protection, you want him to be there when you need help and to protect you. It's hard to see if they are active or not, and some have in their profile the language they speak. Try to find someone who can converse in your main language (english most likely from your post), other languages is possible with google translation, but those translations are not very easy to understand. |

I'm glad I was able to help you. It is a good way, though some information (especially from older threads) needs to be double-checked. The game changes, in some parts these changes might be severe. What Hakushi already wrote gives you a good impression of what you should look at. Me personally, I wouldn't get a lord before the newbie protection is (almost) over. Then look around in your valley and maybe in the statistics of your server to find a lord that suits you. I strongly suggest to only go for lords that offer fair conditions, speak a lagnguage you are also confident in speaking, are in an order and have one (or more) mercenary camp(s), so you can hire some of the special mercenaries, too. |

Please do not hijack other peoples' threads, it's considered off-topic according to the Global Forum Rules. For a new problem, open a new thread. As for your problem: Have you selected a target city for leaving the grey city? And hit the "Return to 'City Name'" button? Sometimes it also requires some loading that may be stopped by leaving the tactics view too early. |
