Hello everyone!
I recently started to play this game and have to say that it has been real fun and relaxation for me playing it. Since I never played any game of this kind, I turned on the tutorial to help me discover the game. So I've been building my city for weeks now, with no intentions to attack anyone but just to build something of my own, create a small army, fulfill quests from tutorial. Speaking of which.... There is a quest that says "Rob a city". Fortunately, I didn't have to attack anyone since the tutorial gives the opportunity that says: "If you are unsure about attacking another player, you should look for a "noCommander" city. These cities are grayed out, and look slightly like so..." And so I found one "noCommander" city and tried to "rob" it. It ended in killing all of my troops for which I didn't know the reason. So I tried again - built a new army and came back. It worked once, but the second time all of my troops were killed again and then I found "Battle reports" finding out that both times my troops were killed by the same player. And I also recieved a personal message from that same player saying: "This is my farm. STOP" So what I wanted to ask you is this... If it says "noCommander", is it really abandoned city or is it someone's property? If it is someone property, how can I know and recognize such cities? I don't want to attack anyone, just want to enjoy the game. Sorry if this was a bit long post, but I'm just learning to play this game and was hoping you will help me. Best wishes and happy playing to all of you... big girl |

Thank you for your answer, crimson.
It is just as I thought it would be- war game and lots of different players. I'm just sorry that I didn't get any warning although it is a bit silly calling a "noCommander" city as its own. But never mind, I'll continue playing for now. Who knows, maybe someday I'll develop that strong so I can attack back that same player in his own town. |

This is getting more interesting every moment.
Today I received new message from the same player which says that when I will have 2-3 cities he will offer me "to be under his protection" and if I refuse that "he will have to keep my city under siege". What a nice offer. Am I the only one who sees this as a blackmail?! There are so many people who want war and i respect that. But how on Earth was I so lucky that one of them is so close to me?! |

Since he didn't attack my hometown yet, I wont make more noise about that. I'll be raising buildings inside my walls because when I looked his profile it says that he has 24 more cities like that, "noCommander" cities which he calls his own. That means if I touch any of abandoned cities within 2 or more hours radius from mine he will kill my army again... and also kill my will for playing. Although, according to the tutorial, my next mission is to capture a city.
But I wont go under his protection, no metter the consequences. And then I will see his further moves. |

you are under game newbie protection for another month or so... You can always capture another town in another valley then abandon the one you have next to him and capture another... anyways, no matter what you do, demo your storehouse before you quit or abandon the city so he can't benefit from it. if he is being an bully blackmailing you, make sure he reaps no benefits from your towns... |

Hehe. Yup, it is blackmail - or more accurately, "protection", which is extortion! But, it is within the rules of the game, I think. Unfortunately. Or perhaps not unfortunately, because I should want someone to fight against, no? But you are definitely in a difficult position. I would like to add a little to this conversation. It is typical that larger no-commander cities get claimed by a player as their farm. Then they must defend it. So, to an extent, it is the biggest player who will claim the farms! Of course, politics and alliances also come into use here. So, a big player without alliances can get beat up by several smaller players who are allied. So it is not a simple thing. For instance, many players will respect another player's farms so that their farms are respected in turn. Also, learning to read the battle logs is important. It is also important to examine the city log that you will see when you enter a no-commander city. You can see there if someone else is in the city. And, when you are small, it is important not to leave your robbing army alone. If you have to leave them alone and somebody else enters the city, you can not get your troops to run away! |

big_girl You could always try to rob from small "no commander" towns
And don't give up you will get strong and have more cities with time, and then you can deal some payback |
