is there any way to investigate what army is hiding in a city before I decide to attack it and probably get my kicked?

you can send a hero and a small force. 20 swordsmen, 20 archers, and 10 scouts plus one hero will do. after the you get there and the fight is over you can see the troops the enemy has in the battle report.

your small for attacking. I dont advise attacking yet. grow big and make a true army first then attack. For you 100-200 archers, swordsmen, pikemen, and marksmen will do.
