You have to wait til it is created. Then click on it it will have destroy tab. You have to wait til it is built...

I think it is the other way around - you have to destroy it while it is being built.

I'm doing that to a tower on Bohemia as we speak. However, oddly, on Crusade a month or so back, the tower would not let me do anything to it, either when it was building, nor after it was done building. Odd, that was.

Another answer - actually to the OP question - HOW LONG does it take?

Right now it started out giving me a 4 hour timer. I thought that previously that it depended on the army strength. Now I am not sure.

Ok - now I can answer two questions!

1. How long does it take?
2. Where do your troops go when the tower is destroyed?

1 = 4 hours. Strength of attacking army has no bearing - does not make a difference.

2 = To your closest city or merc hut.

This is not always true. I destroyed about 4 or 5 towers - and they all took exactly 4 hours. I destroyed another 2, and they only took 10 minutes.

So, obviously, SOMETHING else is going on. But what? Could it be proximity to one of your cities? That seems a bit strange to me, but it could be that. It was NOT troop strength. Could it be the distance from the builder's cities? That would also seem strange logic to me.

A friend of mine seems to think it depends on troop type - he tried with highwaymen and did it in 10 minutes once.

I have yet to figure out the rhyme or reason as to the length of time to destroy a tower. It has ranged anywhere from 1 minute to 4 hours and both extremes have been from having as little as 1 scout or as many as 200k troops in for the capture. At first I thought it had to do with how soon a mark tower was created, meaning if you go to destroy it immediately after it was created, it will take less time than if it has been standing for several hours.

This was a correct statement but Boster was answering the question from the owner's point of view. The owner can instantly destroy a tower after it completes the 24 hour building cycle.

If you are destroing someones else tower, then destroing time depends on that, how far or how close is your city

This makes the most sense based on my recent experience. The towers that took 4 hours were somewhat far away from my closest merc hut location. They were far away from my cities - but they were all located in pretty much the same area.

The mark towers that took 9 minutes were right next to one of my cities.

Continued in next reply - for some reason the forum is not taking my full message.

I destroyed more than 6, perhaps 10 towers in this time. I tried a large division (>2K soldiers) with a hero attacking, I tried a small division (less than 500 troops). I tried single scouts, and single rangers. Some of the scouts had armies in the background, and some were alone.

None of the troop variations made any difference.
