is the master level hero scouting skill needed for norman archers to begin firing from the 4th row? ie- will norman archers have to walk to row 3 to begin attacking if a hero with no master scouting skill is present in the army? also, theoretically, does this hold true for trebuchets as well? thanks vjaka!

I'm reviving this thread since I have the same question and no clear answer is given anywhere that I can find.

So is it worth investing scouting skill on one of my heroes on Aragon?
Would I get extra shots off with my Norman Archers/Trebuchets due to a hero with a master scouting skill? Or does this not matter on Aragon?

aragon is a tricky server since its a non-tactics server. I do not know exactly how the battle system really functions as I do not fight on aragon much. on any other server, scouting skill is a must to have and I would think the same on aragon too.

I would assume yes. scouting is not a skill that designates a army. it only designates the hero so it matters not who your hero is paired with for each round.

So I did some experiments facing Norman Archers two separate times:
Once without any scouting skills; and,
once with a master scouting skills.

The results were pretty much the same.

I expected my Norman Archers to fire before the NPC's since I have that sight advantage on the NPC. But it seemed like they both fired at the same time. And for added information, I had my attack range set at Ranged.
