I've been following the tutorial, which hasn't been an issue, for the most part, until recently.

Yesterday, after successfully robbing the storehouse in another city, while still in that city, that particular part of the tutorial was completed, even though it stated that I was supposed to return home first. That just seemed a bit odd, but I shrugged and moved on.

What irked me was what came up then, which was the order to build the well. I understand the main use of the well, which is fine, but I have to wonder at the fact that building it opens me up to the possibility of having to find thieves even before my new status ends, thus pulling me away from other activities that could make me stronger and more capable of withstanding an attack. But even that seems fairly minor.

It was the order to build the library, which came right on the heels of finishing the well, that really pissed me off. I'm still trying to build up my original city, for the same reasons as mentioned in the previous paragraph, yet I cannot advance in the tutorial without finishing the library, which means pulling VALUABLE resources from building everything else that I need more at this point.

Forcing the "learning" to get the second control point, at this point in time, is entirely useless to me, yet I have to do it to advance with the tutorial. How does doing this so early even make sense? (:s6:) Shouldn't I be focusing on finishing building my FIRST city's resources up, and making sure I am well protected, BEFORE going for the second control point?

The tutorial is not the most important thing to do

get your resources up and build an army

a library is very important if u want to continue in the game, u need more cities and as quickly as posible if u want more help pm me in the game

Don't stick to the tutorial too closely. It's a good help, but that's it. (:s9:)
If you feel like building up your army to be protected, then just do it. (:s29:) (:s24:)

the tutorial is best used by people who are very new to this type of game. if followed to the tee, yea it will most likely slow your advance down however, being new, new people would have probably been worse off without the tutorial. there is a "skip" button but you won't get any rewards provided by the mission besides the free silver trial. tutorials are the best way to learn how to play the game but not the best way to play the game.

The info given for the library part is as follows:

You need to invest resources to the library to improve your city control ability. After improved, you should select a settlement that you wish a capture. If it belongs to the active player, you will require to declare a war against him. You need to siege (command) the city castle with your leader (hero) during 24 hours. Since there probably will be resistance, it is a good idea to split your army into two, one with hero and few troops (protection) sieging a castle, and another at the same cell ready to fight anyone that will appear in the sight

Hints:

Invest resources (any sum suits for investing) and raise your city control ability to level 2

Rewards:

+3 Trebuchet

@crimson The reward offered is the +3 Trebuchet, as shown here, not the free silver trial. Since it seems that the trebuchets are ONLY given as tutorial/quest rewards, it stands to reason that they are not an integral part of the game. I might be a little more understanding if they were able to be created, like the carts, rams and catapults.

By now, trebuchets can be obtained through the tutorial and through "kingdom events". I remember though that it is planned to allow them to be build in the future.
Trebuchets are good defensive weapons, but they have 2 main disadvantages: The are slow and they can't be moved in the last line of your army like other machinery.
In conclusion, seeker, my advise would be to stick to the tutorial, but if you feel confident enough you can also leave it at certain times.
If you didn't get the trebuchets of the library quest, it's not that bad for the development of your city.

you know you have 2 week protection and in the first week just make an iron and lumber mill to level 15 and storehouse then build your army

U can actually keep The tutorial as it is and continue on with ur other jobs and then come to the tutorial(:s1:) If U skip Them U MOST certainly won't get those rewards (:s15:) even if u complete them later (:s27:) which kinda sucks and I skipped them and lost 4 trebuchets which i could have got (:s6:) (:s6:) hope it helped, just leave/ignor the tutorial, till u build up an army or defenses, BUT DO NOT "SKIP" them(:s15:)
