1. Do I obligatory need gates in my walls? I mean - what differece is there?
2. Can the troops climb any wall or I need to build the sliding wall (don't know exactly how else to call them - one side is lower than the other side).
thanks

cavalry and siege can't pass walls but gates allow all troops to pass if yours or an allies.
foot troops can pass walls. there is no such thing as a "sliding" wall in this game. you must be talking about the graphics which has no tactical importance.

()I see...
can I attack my enemy if they're behind the wall, but I have no gate? Does the gate help in this case as well (e.g. my troops can get on the wall and shoot from it?)()

dowNINit, yes, you can attack them with archers and other ranged units. You no need the gate for this purpose. But if you place your troops onto the wall or into the gates, they also will get some defensive bonus corresponding to the wall(gate) level. From 10 to 30%.
