In December and January we are celebrating winter festival, and are having good time with our friends and families. From the December 18th till January 15th we invite you to join us in this celebration in 1100AD. Snow will cover buildings in your cities*, and winter decorations on game portal and in-game will help you feel the very spirit of winter.
But we offer not only decorations! 1100AD team worked hard to bring you special festival events and offers. Let's see, what do we have here?

DISCOUNTS AND SPECIAL OFFERS:
We separated them in two groups. Fist one – quests, games, contests and other entertainments available for the whole period of celebration (from the December 18th till January 15th). Second one – special offers and discounts available for few days only or even several hours starting on Christmas, New Year's Eve and Orthodox Christmas day. We described first group below, but special offers will have their own notifications. So keep an eye on forum and portal news and be ready to catch your luck!

CHRISTMAS TREE AND GIFTS:
Beautiful fir tree will appear in your cities. Don't forget to check it every 12 hours, as quick Santa's helpers will place presents there. What hides beneath the wrapping paper and ribbons? Those valuable gift may contain a 1 to 5 level artifact, resources, troops, diamonds or even gold.

SNOW BATTLES:
During the holiday you may participate in snowballs battle. Every snowball is available as a location drop, and can be bought as well at auction or in game shop.

How to play?
To play a snowball battle send invitation to your adversary - click the button in his/hers profile: We simplified the battle rules: both you and your opponent should select snowball in the battle window to start the duel. The mightier your snowball is, the more chances to win you have. You can upgrade your snowballs at Blacksmith's.

If all conditions are met, battle will occur automatically, and its results are displayed in "Battles" tab in the Christmas tree menu. As well winner will receive kingdom event with reward gift.


CONTEST: HERO OF THE SNOW BATTLES!
We gather win and loss statistics for every player who ever participated in snowball battle. Top 10 players from every server will receive special prizes after the event end.
Players are awarded in 2 categories: most battles played and most battles won. 'Most battles won' nomination is considered a priority when determining contest winners.

PRIZES:
1st place: +1 city control point, Lost city in private property*, new 40th level free hero, big artifact set, 500 diamonds and +1 Order skill of player's choice**.
2nd place: +1 mercenary location control point, new 40th level free hero, medium artifact set, 300 diamonds and +1 Order skill of player's choice**.
3rd place: +1 mercenary location control point, new 40th level free hero, small artifact set, 100 diamonds and +1 Order skill of player's choice**.
4th -5th places: 5 level Artifact Storage, three 3rd level Strongboxes, artifact set, 50 diamonds free 24th level free holiday heroine.
6th-10th places: 5th level Strongbox + artifact set, 25 diamonds, free 24th level free holiday heroine.

ADDITIONAL PRIZES:
All-round champions in every nomination (most battles played and most battles won) will receive +1 city control point.
If same player claims victory in both nominations, 'most battles won' is considered a priority.
As well every player who played 100 000 and more battles but haven't won the interserver contest, will receive +1 city control point as a runner-up prize.

* City will be placed on player submitted coordinates.
** Order can get only one such prize. If this prize is won by player not belonging to any Order, s/he can join any Order and claim the prize in 14 day period, or get a 350 diamond refund for it.

FESTIVE KINGDOM EVENTS:
Yes, this is correct – we have more than one!

* Christmas Eve (December 24/25) – every player will get 200k resources.
* New Year's Eve (December 31/January 1) – conditionally free 24 level hero will join your army.
* Orthodox Christmas Eve (January 6/7) – every player gets 200k resources again!


CHARITY LOTTERY:
During the festival period every player may participate in lottery, buying a ticket and ipening any 3 cells on the game field. You may win various prizes like, gold, resources, heroes or mercenary location control points. Buy a ticket and try your luck!
And we have a good tradition – every year 20% of the money earned from this lottery goes to the one of Riga's children's homes.

UNIQUE FESTIVAL ARTIFACT:
We are introducing very special 'French King Crown' artifact, that gives its owner +1 city control point. This artifact is created when 'Ancient Frankish Crown' artifact is combined with 'Rare Jewel' item (it can be looted in locations or bought in auction).
You can use this artifact only once per game time.


SPECIAL OFFERS AND DISCOUNTS:
* New heroes! Two brand new conditionally free heroes are available in game shop for the holidays. Those rugged warriors will join your forces for just 55 diamonds.

AND FOR THE WHOLE FESTIVAL PERIOD:
* Loot is doubled for every location;
* Call of Arms gets you twice as much mercenaries.
* Temporary festival location of Laponia is guarded by angry snowmen, but even novices can fight them. You can get many festival artifacts there, like snowballs, christmas tree decorations, antlers and many more. When this location appears in the valley, all nearby players get a notification with location coordinates.
