September is coming, and with it the Day of Knowledge. All of us have gone to school, someone is still studying in college or the university and some of us are even teaching.
The 1100AD Team would like to congratulate everyone with the first autumn celebration – The Knowledge Day!
And to celebrate this wonderful day, we have prepared the following:
The Celebration Tree and the “Paper ball battle”
On the 29th of August a magic tree will grow in every city – An Oak, which will allow its owner to collect gifts every day. Don’t forget to look under the tree and collect the presents!
Additionally, the tree allows you to play the “Paper ball battle” mini game.
Prizes:
1st place – A new building – “Artifact Storage” (lvl 10) + Artifact "Teutonic Shield" + 1 additional point for the Orders main skill of choice.
2nd place – A set of drafts to build a “Byzantine Sawmill” (Max lvl) + Artifact "Replica of Tizona" + 1 additional point to the “Attack” skill for the Order.
3rd place – A set of drafts to build a “Blast Furnace” (Max lvl) + Artifact "Templar Shield" + 1 additional point to the "Defense" skill for the Order.
Places 4-5 - Building "Strongbox" (5th lvl) + Conditionally free hero of level 35 + Standard set of battle artifacts.
Places 6-10 – Conditionally free hero of level 30 + Standard set of battle artifacts.
Conditions of receiving the prizes:
1) One player can receive only one prize.
2) One Order can receive only one prize.
If one and the same player has won in both categories, then the priority goes to the “most amount of wins” category and the prize for the “most battles played” category’s winner is the player who finished 2nd in the respective category.
The time of the contest and the announcement of results:
The contest takes place from August 29th until September 9th. The results will be announced in two weeks after the end of the contest.

On September 1st, exactly at 00:00 server time, each player will receive a special event with presents.
New building “Artifact Storage”
The new building serves as an additional place where to store your artifacts in the city. It can be upgraded up to level 10, with each level adding 2 more slots for artifacts. In order to build the storage a free space of 2x2 is required in the city.
”The Artifact Storage” can be won on the “Paper ball battle”.
Since the building is the main prize in the “Paper ball battle” mini game, during September it will only be available to the winners; however, at the beginning of October, it will be added to the shop and will become available to all players.
Other updates:
- the bug with the freezing of an army after destruction of a fort has been fixed;
- all possible options are now available when configuring a wall in the city;
- the upper panel has been slightly reduced and changed, and the clearing of the selected cell function has been added, as was requested by players;
- the mouse control panel has been moved to a concealable panel to the right of the map;
- the entering of coordinates has been simplified – now the number of the valley can be written with a space in between, without the brackets (e.g. the coordinates 123 123 2 will transport you to the cell 123x123 in valley 2);
- simple waters are now visually different;
- for servers where the contour consists of water, the appearance of forts has been changed.
How to play the mini-game “Paper ball battle”.
To play a battle with the paper balls, enter another players profile and press the button
.
Both you and your opponent should have an activated game artifact (Paper ball). To activate the ball, you should use it on a hero.
The more powerful your artifact is, the more chances you have to win. You can improve your game artifacts with the “Blacksmith”.
If all conditions are met, the battle should commence automatically and the results will be visible in the “Battles” tab in the Celebration Tree.
The winner will receive a kingdom event with a gift-reward. However, the loser will unfortunately not receive anything.
