The hero I started the game with was just a normal hero like the other medieval servers - with armour and twohanded sword. But several weeks ago I saw his icon was this:

Is this some disguise?
Or he was jaguar in his previous life? (:s8:)
Or that is because I conquered a new town south of my first one and he wishes to be like the natives?

In one of the build updates, some of the hero's images change to a more recent new version to imitate the time and/or cultural. The image seems Aztec in design so I'm guessing you are playing A "nation" (lack of a better word) that has links to the Aztecs or its culture.

He was a closet Aztec. Guess he decided to come out! (:s8:)

Thank you for the answer ( although I doubt that England has anything to do with Aztecs (:s3:)).But I have another question. Why I have such icon on my city

http://eldorado.1100ad.com/images/layout/city/conditions/bastion_tax.png

and text telling me "Tax ( 1%) is taken by Serrulata" What this does mean? I have no relations with him. He has a fortress 2 hours away from me but there is Byzantine fortess that is nearer and I don't have such icon about it. May be some new feature?

That's the point. The owner of the fortress for your "region" of the valley can impose a tax on all players who have cities in that "region".

Byz. fortresses don't produce ressources, ergo they can't be taxed.
