As for the diamonds, you are right, they weren't promised at the start, but were granted later. I remember them being granted automatically, so I ask you to please look at your diamond history see if you did really not receive them. Since they were an additional gift, I wouldn't feel too bad if I missed them ... but of course you may contact support to see if you can still get them if you haven't yet.
