Do the elixirs offering increased attack points apply to the troops as well as the heroes? I know the movement elixirs do but it doesn't seem to be the same for the +5 attack elixir. Am I just wrong?(:s31:)

The elixier of inspiration does what the description says: It increases the attack points of the hero. Whether or not these attack points change the offensive power of your troops, is still being discussed among players. Most say it does not affect them.

so then, what good does it do, since my hero rarely gets close enough to attack himself. I really cannot think of any benefit, other than perhaps bumping up the attack points of the hero to enable the hero to use one of the artifacts which require initially high attack points (sort of bump up your attack so you qualify to use another artifact)? I'm confused . . .(:s32:)

that is one of its uses... you'd be surprised by the amount of attack 3 or 5 points in attack can grant a hero. Their attack value (the amount of damage they do) is a function of the hero attack points.
