Well, I think everyone will agree the melee DOT (Damage over time) is much greater than that of range DOT. However, you will need to compare the enemies DOT at both of these values along with what type of meat they are using and many other factors. What it really comes down to, is you. more specifically your offense type. I've seen players at both ends of the spectrum, all range and all melee. Those are very specific types and require very advanced tactics which have many factors and since you can not adjust much, sometimes that is their downfall. Players who chose a mix, are very versatile in their available tactics but will most likely lack in their offense or defense at certain ranges. It really comes down to you and your enemies choice.
