I'm playing on Koryo. I have an Obelisk which I am feeding resources to gain Merc. camp points. However it also seems to be taking population as well but there is no indication in the Obelisk that it should do so. Any ideas why it is doing this without any warning?

The OB (obelisk) in general takes pop (this is only for the building itself and the level at which you build it up to). However, spending resources to increase in a vassal point (and as a result, you gain a merc camp point also) should not take population. Its just like the library with the city point. I'd be rather surprised to see a glitch like that although it would not be the worst glitch I've ever seen... If you can prove it through screenshots, I'd advise you to contact support.
