As i saw, quite a while ago there were some contests regarding players cities. My city wasn't at a good enough state at the time of the contest, therefore i didn't take part.
My Question is, How often do these contests to show off our cities occur, and will we see one in the near future ?

There was only one contest concerning the look of your city in the last 2 years. (I think it was even the first one in the game ever.)
They are not held on a regular basis, but you can suggest one.
