That is most likely because they are doing work on it to improve the server and to get rid of bugs. You should be happy since it doesn't usually take long and it improves your enjoyment of the game. If you encounter this "problem" again you can try to go back and re-enter your username and password, then try to click Grail again. For whatever reason, this helps me at times. Hope this helps.
