FIRST: I say, let's have "lansquenets" as a new mercenary type.

Don't tell me about the pikemen we build at the barracks - I'm talking about mercenaries. Rationale: the lansquenets played a huge role in the Mediaeval European wars - they just were there all the time!

SECOND: I say also, let's have "the Swiss guards" as a new mercenary type.

Again, don't tell me about the elite guards. They're really great and I want them, too (:s9:) But they're slow. The Swiss guards would be weaker but faster. AGAIN, the rationale - the Swiss guards were used as much as the lansquenets in the Mediaeval Europe.

And the "Doppelsoldner" - the infantry men armed with the huge sword called the "Zweihander"

The Landsknechten troops consisted of the pikemen and these Doppelsoldneren.

So, maybe the devs can hold the pikemen (which we have already) but add the Doppelsoldneren.

According to the chronicles, the Landsknechten were uniformed and looked very differently from all the other army types of the age. So, in the game and if properly done, they would really stand out.

The Doppelsoldneren should be made more expensive to make, like the knights, for example, BECAUSE they would be good against the ordinary meat shield/cap we have: swordsmen and men-at-arms.

It should be remembered that their outfits haven't ever been changed since the Mediaeval Times!!!

These guys (die Doppelsoldneren) used the huge two-handed swords as tall as a man. They were in the front lines always, crashing into the enemy troops to make room for the Landsknecht pikemen.

Btw, in the first picture above "The Landsknechten" you can also see the Doppelsoldner standing in the background, with the Zweihander resting on his shoulders.
