If for no other reason, then just because he's my ally. If you become his vassall, you get a whole lot of allies and especially NAPs and other advantages of his guild.
That's nice especially for rookies who need their back watched.

When I read your post I thought that maybe the advantages of being your vassal should be a bit more explained and emphasized.
Being the good ally that I am I got this job done for you. Why not point out the advantages that a guild member has to offer his vassals? Oh and I thought that....
